The Washington FFA Foundation facilitates multiple scholarship funds to recognize excellence in FFA leadership and agricultural education.
Gene Forrester Agricultural Education Scholarship Fund
In recognition of past Washington FFA State Advisor Gene Forrester's lifelong commitment to supporting agricultural education and FFA, the Gene Forrester Agricultural Education Scholarship Fund awards an annual scholarship to an exemplary student who pursues a degree in agricultural education.
Klindworth Family Scholarship
The Klindworth family own and operate a fourth generation dryland wheat farm in eastern Washington. Since the beginning of this family run business, all family members that plan on returning to the farm have been required to obtain a college degree. Due to the hard work and success of the Klindworth family, they have been able to assist their family members in their educational pursuits. They would now like to extend that support and help high school students who are passionate about agriculture pursue those passions by furthering their education. Whether that be through trade schools, community colleges, or a university because the Klindworth family recognizes that their farm would not be the success that it is without the educated individuals that play a pivotal role in the many facets of the agriculture industry. They hope this scholarship will help to ignite student’s passions in furthering their education and becoming a part of the most important industry in the world.
The family is generously providing for two $2000 scholarships to graduating FFA seniors who will be the first person in their family to pursue a post-secondary education by enrolling in college or a trade/technical school.
Note attached explanation of the scholarship and application form. Also, please make the scholarship available to your high school counselors as they may be able to assist you in identifying FFA members who are first generation family members pursuing post-secondary education.
Robert "Bob" Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund
During his lifetime, Robert Andrews established a lasting legacy in the agriculture industry. A pioneer in the Horse Heaven Hills south of Prosser, Bob established the family farm which today encompasses 3,500 acres of wine grapes along with many other irrigated crops.
Bob was active as a 4-H leader and supported FFA. All of his children were involved in 4-H and FFA. He served for 16 years on the Prosser School Board.
The Andrews and Rowell Families and the Washington FFA Foundation are excited to announce the creation of the Bob Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund. This college scholarship fund will provide educational opportunities for students pursuing a degree in agriculture, future agriculture teachers, and Washington FFA state officers.
A total of eight scholarships for FFA members and five scholarships for future agriculture educators will be the cornerstone of the Bob Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships will be $500.00 each. One hundred percent of the Bob Andrews Memorial Scholarship wine sales will go to the Washington FFA Foundation for scholarships.
Donations can also be made to the scholarship fund by donating at the Washington FFA Foundation website or by mailing a check to Washington FFA Foundation, 152101 W. Richards Rd., Prosser, WA. 99350. Please label the check: Washington FFA Foundation Robert Andrews Memorial Scholarship.
The Andrews Family and Washington FFA Foundation thank you for your support of the Robert Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund.
